Denstone College staff member awarded 3rd Dan black belt

Congratulations to Mrs J Davis who was awarded her 3rd Dan black belt in Kenpo Ju-Jitsu over the weekend.

This is a huge achievement, and even more so considering she is the only woman in her club; she has to train and throw men, who in some cases are double her size. There are only a handful of people in the country who achieve their 3rd Dan in our style of Ju-Jitsu, and even fewer women, which is remarkable!

The grading was a gruelling 3 hours long with no breaks and involved demonstrating very high levels of Ju-Jitsu, where all techniques were announced in Japanese, proficient use of various weapons and defending herself successfully against 30 attacks in less than 90 seconds.
