Activities - Tuesday Unspecified

Pupils in Film Club have been admiring an original first edition, 1885, Jules Verne book.

Pupils have been exploring the genre of adventure and science fiction as imaginary worlds, created in literature first with authors like Jules Verne, made plausible thanks to techniques developed in cinema productions.

So far, pupils have watched Hugo, by Martin Scorsese, which pays homage to George Meliès and Jules Verne and then Around the World in 80 Days, based on Jules Verne's book.

They will conclude their sessions with the Back to the Future trilogy to reinforce the power of cinema as a storytelling device; references to Jules Verne are very strong throughout the films.
