Speech Day includes a review of the year, made by girls and boys who highlight both individual and team successes in academic and extra curricula activities. Ben Crawford, Charlie Edwards, Maddy Statham, and Kitty Whirledge presented the Junior School review. Toby Bywater, Aimee Powell, Matthew Sells, and Romi Whitehouse did the Middle School review, while Lottie Fitzpatrick, Morgan James, Oliver Macara and Emily Wagstaff focused on Senior School. They presented a colourful snapshot of a very busy and fulfilling year at Denstone.

After this, some of the cast of this year’s school play, “Grease”, performed a medley of songs. It was a wonderful musical interlude in which the following pupils  took part: Sasha Brown, Toby Bywater, Alice Copestick, Al Giovannelli, Morgan James, Will McEneny,  Isabel McManus, Freya Taylor, Emily Wagstaff and Ed Whirledge.

This year, the prizes were presented by Jeremy Snape, an Old Denstonian who was a professional cricketer for 19 years. He is the founder of Sporting Edge, a leading Performance Management consultancy and he gave an entertaining and thought provoking presentation on how you can develop a winning mind set in both the sports and work arena.

Captains of School, Ollie Bailey and Jess Harding, thanked Jeremy Snape,  and then gave their own  moving valete speeches to bring to  an end a very successful Speech Day afternoon.
