Sport Workshops & Seminars

The Dedicated Athlete Scheme, is an important offering at Denstone College.  The scheme provides an individualised programme in order to develop the skills of up to 25 students that are in performance pathways in their chosen sport.   In this way we hope that they will achieve their full athletic potential.

There are several aims of the programme, including  improved performance, reducing the risk of injury and bridging the gaps in Academy and elite sport. This is achieved through extra athletic development, as well as seminars on nutrition, recovery, and psychology.  We invite regular guest speakers and arrange visits to high performance environments.

We are lucky enough to have had webinars with some high profile speakers including Nathan Hines, Leah Wilkinson and Mal Loye over the last few weeks. We look forward to our next webinar with Schalk Brits who will be speaking to the pupils of the Dedicated Athlete Scheme next Wednesday.  Schalk was part of the winning team that beat England in the Rugby World Cup last year and will most certainly give our pupils an insight into ways to perform at their very best.
