Chapel Visit Trip

During the Easter break, whilst on holiday in Rome, Hugo had the honour of seeing the Pope in the Vatican.

Hugo said “every week, pilgrims and visitors in Rome are free to attend the Pope’s weekly general audience at the Vatican. I went with my Parents during the Easter Holidays.

In St Peter’s Square, there were thousands of people from all over the world who had all come to see the Holy Father. The audience starts with the Pope going around the square standing on his special car called the ‘Popemobile’ that allows everyone to see him.

Afterward, he goes to a special platform in front of the basilica from which he delivers an address. At this Audience he spoke of the importance of the 4th Commandment: “You Shall Honour your Father and your Mother” and also that it’s important to talk to, care for & learn from the elderly.

A short summary of the address is given afterwards in different languages. It all finishes with everyone singing and praying the Our Father in Latin: “Pater Noster”.

We know this was an incredibly special moment and are pleased he was able to do this!
