Newsletter from the Head – Week 11
Dear Parents and Guardians
Thank you all so much for your support of the Big Birthday Party last weekend; Denstone really was at its finest and it was lovely to welcome so many people to such a lovely ‘festival’ day. We now have just one week remaining and so much to celebrate. I look forward to seeing you all before the much-needed Summer break.
Speeches and Prize Giving 2023 – Reminder
Please be reminded that Speeches and Prize Giving 2023 will take place on Friday 7 July in the Sports Hall. The event will begin at 3.30pm, but arrival from 2.30pm is advised to allow time to be seated. There will be a buffet in the Dining Hall following the event for all attending. Please see the letter on the Parent Portal to book seating for this event.
Head of North House
We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Mr Alastair Falconer (Director of Hockey) to the position of Head of North House from September 2023. A letter of introduction has been sent to all relevant boarding families and we look forward to him meeting as many of you as possible in the coming months.
Concert in the Quad
Thursday July 6 is our annual 'Concert in the Quad', which presents many of our choirs and ensembles in the beautiful outdoor setting of the Lonsdale Quad.
The concert starts at 7.00pm, and parents and guests are invited to bring along a picnic and refreshments to enjoy an evening of music.
Please note, this is an informal open-air concert, and no seating is provided. Please bring camping chairs/picnic blankets or similar to the event. Please also be aware that although the Quad is lovely in the sun, it gets very cold, very quickly when the sun goes behind the buildings! We suggest bringing blankets/warm clothing for later in the evening.
Due to the positioning of the performance area at this event, access for the evening is either via the Lodge, then the Library/South Wing doors (which will be signposted), or the driveway leading around the North Wing to the Quad.

Summer Holiday Hockey Camp
MT13 is running a two-day hockey camp at the College on 14 and 15 August 2023. Please refer to the booking details on the Parent Portal and use DCMT13Summer10 to receive a 10% discount.
