Newsletter from the Head – Week 2

Dear Parents and Guardians

We are now truly into the routines and rigours of school term and our pupils are settling well. They continue to remain engaged and positive and I have thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them in all areas of school life. College feels alive and buzzing! The purpose of this email is to bring to your attention a number of areas of College administration and I request that you carefully read the contents within.

Traffic on Site

We have experienced significant traffic on site, particularly on a Friday evening. Whilst this is inevitable to some degree, we ask that all parents follow the instructions of the Senior Management Team who work hard to keep traffic flowing safely and quickly. We do have some spaces available on some bus networks and therefore to try to alleviate traffic, please do get in touch if this is a service you wish to consider for a Friday evening. Please continue to observe all speed limits, and avoid all double yellow lines. If there is stationery traffic in the Lodge area, you will be directed around the one-way system to the swimming pool car park.

Catering

We are very excited to have launched our new catering provision and to be offering an updated menu. The Dining Hall feels calmer, happier and full of chatter, over wonderful meals. There have been some understandable teething problems as we manage our pupils through the new system. We have made many small tweaks to help the progress of the system and at present, pupils are waiting a maximum of 11 minutes to be served. We will continue to work on this system and are confident it will settle even further over time. Lunch is a compulsory element of our school day and we have been most impressed with our pupils as we perfect this new system.

Transport

Please note that Kevin McCammon is no longer running our transport services. Please direct all enquiries to [email protected] including requests for extra journeys.
