Denstone College Pupils Attend Buckingham Palace

Duke of Edinburgh Awards


Last week Upper Sixth pupils Edward Baker (Selwyn), Harry Rosenbaum (Heywood) and OD’s Ellen Hill and Joe Timmis attended Buckingham Palace to receive the prestigious Gold Duke of Edinburgh award. The event which was attended by HRH The Duke of York, HRH The Earl Wessex and HRH The Countess of Wessex.

Once in the garden of Buckingham Palace current and former pupils enjoyed music from The Band of the Gurkha Rifles and The Band of the Royal Marines. Their awards were given to them by Food Critic and Writer, William Sitwell. 

Also presenting the awards were Mary Berry, David Mitchell and Alexandra Burke.
