House Merits

This term’s individual year group merit winners are as follows. 5^th form and U6th form had curtailed a term due to study leave.

1^st form – George S 17 merits

2^nd form – Jai R17 merits

3^rd form – Sam C & Jerry L 16 Merits

4^th form Evelyn H & Eleanor L 39 merits

5^th form Dani R 4 merits

L6th form – Abi W 8 merits

U6th form – Josh L 4 merits

A huge well done to Evelyn and Eleanor for earning their Gold awards and finishing at the top of the House table.

Prize Winners

Congratulations to this year’s Prize Winners. In the U6th Emily D won the DT Prize and in the L6th Katie N took both the French Prize and the Politics Prize. In 5^th form it was all about languages with Meg W taking the French Prize and Leo M awarded the Spanish prize. In addition Charlie E and Elodie G were both awarded Attainment Prizes. Daniela G picked up one of the Denstone Parents prizes and Archie T was awarded the Sir John Kay prize for Sporting Performance. Further awards went to Luke H who picked up the Woodard Boarding Prize, Evelyn H who was awarded the Wray Prize and Matthew S who gained the Head’s Prize. Evelyn H also won a 4^th form Attainment prize and Effort Prizes went to Amily S (3^rd form), Jai R and Isabella F(2^nd form) and Megan L (1^st form). Well done to all.

Duke of Edinburgh

A huge well done to Liv A and Emily D who both completed their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Special Achievement

Our congratulations go to Holly C who has been selected to ride for Team GB in the 2022 European Equestrian competition this July. This is an incredible achievement for Holly and caps off many years of hard work and dedication. Go Holly we are all rooting for you!

Junior School Show

We were treated to a brilliant performance of Oliver in the Junior School play. Evelyn R looked every bit the part as Dr Grimwig and Isabella F sang beautifully as the Strawberry seller. They were ably supported by Amily S and Lizzie L in the Workhouse Ensemble and Estee Hunter-Bott in the Adult Ensemble. A huge well done also to Evelyn H, Eleanor Land Alexa L for their hard work as student directors.

Sports Day

It was fantastic to run a full college sports day again and I was incredibly proud of Team Selwyn. We started brilliantly with Philipp K and Bertie T winning the 4^th form Paarlauf race and with Sam C and Tilly H finishing 2^nd in the 3^rd form race and Tom P and Meg W also finishing 2^nd in the 5^th form race we came 3^rd overall in the House Paarlauf competition. We also finished in 2^nd place overall in the House relay cup winning the 4x400m and finishing 2^nd in the 3^rd form boys relay. In the main sports day standings the Senior Girls came in 2^nd place, Katie N winning both the 200m and 800m and Meg W winning the 1500m. The Inter girls also came in 2^nd place, Kate G winning the Long Jump. Evelyn R also won the Junior girls Shot.

The Inter boys also finished in 2^nd place with Philipp K winning the 800m and Austin H winning the Discus. Jeremy G also won the Junior boys 200m and Jai R won the Junior boys Shot. It was fantastic to round off the year in the sunshine with a brilliant team performance.

Farewell to the U6th

I would like to wish all this year’s U6th Good Luck for results day and I look forward to hearing about all the amazing things you will go on to do.

I wish everyone in Selwyn House an enjoyable and much deserved summer holiday.
