Congratulations to Sophie who has been selected for the Central Sparks Academy Squad for the 2022/23 season. Central Sparks is a sporting centre of excellence for high performance professional female cricketers.
Sophie started playing cricket when she was 8 years old when she and a friend decided to ‘just give it a go’. Since then, she has not looked back and joined an U8s softball league in a team that was predominantly boys.
Sophie said ‘I am delighted to be selected for the Central Sparks Academy and I think it is going to really push my cricket to the next level and give me a great experience being able to play against people and with people who have been selected for the England U19 World Cup in January. The school has played a big part in my cricket journey with the excellent coaching and support I have been given and the brilliant opportunities I have received. ‘
