Introducing our Captain of Shrewsbury, Amba

Amba says '' I am currently studying Spanish, economics and philosophy & ethics for my A Levels. My favourite sport is netball, which I have had the enjoyment of playing both in and out of school. I am also a huge fan of football and I (sometimes) enjoy watching my team, Derby County. What I love most about Denstone College is the feeling of being part of a strong school community, in addition to taking advantage of the variety of extra-curricular opportunities that are on offer here. Upon leaving Denstone, I hope to study politics, philosophy and economics (PPE) at university.''

Head of House, Mr Nye says ''From the very outset, Amba has embraced all that Denstone and Shrewsbury House offered; she is a true role model. Her end of term report gives mention to her 'incredible work ethic' and 'another imperious term's work'; she is targeted an A* in two of her three A-level subjects (economics and religious studies) and an A grade in her third (Spanish). Netball is Amba's sport of choice, but ultimately, she will give anything a go, especially if it benefits the House. She is very much looking forward to spearheading Shrewsbury House, inspiring those around her in her Captaincy and ensuring that Shrewsbury continues to be home to the Mighty Shrews!''
