PASTORAL CARE & WRAP AROUND CARE
|
At the heart of our prep school's pastoral system is the belief that every child's happiness and well-being are paramount. Each pupil is placed with a form teacher who acts as their pastoral tutor, playing a crucial role in their daily school life.
This teacher is not just an educator but a mentor who closely monitors the child's progress, both academically and personally. The class teacher, often the first point of contact for parents, is instrumental in fostering this close-knit, supportive community.
Parents, pupils, and teachers collaborate seamlessly, ensuring that each child's experience at our prep school is not only joyful but also a solid foundation for their educational journey.
Beyond the Classroom
Our school's pastoral care extends beyond the classroom through our unique House system. Each student is allocated to one of three Houses - Cedars, Beeches, or Oaks - creating a smaller family within the larger school community. This system includes pupils from all year groups, promoting a sense of unity and belonging. Each House is led by a dedicated member of staff, the Head of House, and supported by Prep 6 pupil House Captains.
This structure encourages leadership, responsibility, and a spirit of healthy competition, enhancing the overall school experience for each child.
The backbone of our pastoral care is our extensive and diverse team, dedicated to nurturing every aspect of our pupils' development. This team includes the child's form teacher, Wellbeing teachers, Prep Pastoral Lead, Head of Pre-Prep and Head of Prep, Head of Boarding, Boarding tutors, a medical team, and a school counsellor. Together, they create a supportive and caring environment where every child feels valued and understood. This comprehensive approach ensures that each pupil receives the individual attention and care they need to thrive both academically and personally in their formative years.
