Outdoor learning is a staple of The Prep at Denstone College. Our children are fortunate to enjoy an outdoor lesson every week, whether it’s Forest School for the younger year groups or outdoor learning activities for the older pupils.
Arriving at Denstone was initially quite overwhelming. A new environment, new people, and a new school—it was a lot to take in all at once. However, the welcoming atmosphere, especially from the boarding staff and the girls, made settling in much easier than I expected.
From Prep 3 to Prep 6, our pupils participate in traditional team sports, including rugby, hockey, netball, and cricket.
As Head of The Prep, I often marvel at the vibrant tapestry of life that unfolds here each day. Life is undeniably busy, with a wealth of activities and events ensuring that there is always something happening. From the moment the school doors open, the buzz of excitement and energy is palpable, a testament to the joy and curiosity that fills our community.
As we embark on 2025, Denstone College continues it's exciting partnership with Staffordshire Cricket and Staffordshire County Cricket Club. The College will serve as a shirt-sleeve sponsor for a range of county teams over the next four years, which started with the 2024 cricket season.
As we start the Christmas break, it provides a perfect time to reflect on what has been an incredibly busy and fulfilling Michaelmas term. There has been much to celebrate, and the pupils continually impress us with their sporting achievements, both individually and collectively in their teams.
