Dear Parents / Guardians

The week began with excitement as our pupils participated in Moving Up Morning and the Prep 6 in Six Mix. It was wonderful to see everyone meeting their new teachers and exploring the classrooms for the upcoming year.

Our Summer Serenade was a delightful event, held in baking hot weather, showcasing a wonderful variety of musical and theatrical performances from our talented pupils. A huge thank you to Mrs John and the music staff, as well as Mrs Beetham and the drama staff, for their exceptional efforts.

Sports Day was a fantastic success, thanks to the hard work of Mr. Bettaney, the College sports staff, and the College pupils. Congratulations to Oaks, the winning house. A special thank you to Lydia and Claire from our wonderful PTFA for providing the much-needed ice creams.

This morning's End of Term Assembly was a lovely occasion to see everyone and to congratulate and recognise the achievements of our individual pupils. A special thanks to Dr Baker, as always for his support.

Pre-Prep 2 are eagerly looking forward to their Hartley House sleepover tonight.

Looking Ahead to Next Week

Prep 6 Café Visit

Next week, Prep 6 pupils will have the opportunity to visit the onsite café. Please ensure your Prep 6 child brings up to £5 in cash on Tuesday / Wednesday if they wish to visit the café. Please explain to your child they are responsible for keeping their money safe. Participation is optional but encouraged as a way to familiarise themselves with the College for September.

Prep 6 Food for Thought

Prep 6 pupils are invited to a lunchtime session on Monday with Dr Baker. 

Leavers Services and Speech Day – DCTV 

We understand that not everyone is able to make it to both or either of the end of year events in The Prep, which is why we are proudly Live streaming this year's Prep Leavers' service on Thursday 4 July and The Prep Speech Day and Prize Giving the following day. Links will be posted on our social media platforms, however for those wishing to pass the link onto relatives, you are welcome to share our YouTube channel.  The link will remain online post event so you will be able to watch the performance back at a time suitable for yourselves.

Reminders

• Leavers Dinner, Prep 6 parents and pupils, please join us in the Lodge at 19:30 on Tuesday 2 July.
• Prep 6 Leavers' Service, all parents are warmly invited to join us for the Leavers’ Service. Please meet in the Lodge at 08:30 and you will be escorted to chapel.
• All parents are warmly invited to join us for Speech Day on Friday 5 July (details attached). If you have not already done so, please email Helen Heron hheron@denstonecollege.net to book your place.  After Speech Day, Prep 6 pupils will return to the Prep and be signed out from there. Reception to Prep 5 pupils will go for lunch and can be collected from the Prep at 1330, although you can pick up immediately after Prize giving if you would like to. Prep will be open until 1730 for children on the coaches.

On a personal note, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the truly wonderful gifts you have given me. The overnight stay at the Dinas Country House, complete with a Michelin-starred meal, will be an extraordinary and unforgettable experience. The teddy bear is a special keepsake that I will always treasure. The beautiful flowers and the standing ovation during our assembly this morning were incredibly emotional and moving. The greatest gift of all will always be the memories of watching our pupils thrive and grow. Their progress and achievements are the true highlights of my time here. Thank you for making me feel so appreciated and cherished.
