Outdoor Learning in the Prep
|
Outdoor learning is a staple of The Prep at Denstone College. Our children are fortunate to enjoy an outdoor lesson every week, whether it’s Forest School for the younger year groups or outdoor learning activities for the older pupils.
We aim to nurture ready, resilient outdoor learners who are observant and appreciative of the natural world. By encouraging curiosity and exploration, we hope to inspire a lifelong connection with nature. This term, we plan to use the winter weather as a source of fun, discovery, and wonder.
As part of our efforts, we’ll be participating in the RSPB's Big School Birdwatch. With the support of the PTFA, we’ve acquired bird feeders, birdhouses, and other resources that will be installed to complement this initiative.
Our pupils will observe and identify various bird species while exploring ways to support bird populations. Through these efforts, we aim to enhance biodiversity and create a thriving ecosystem on our school grounds.
