Pupil Qualifies for British Championships

At the end of February, Zach competed in the Under-14 English Championship at the Telford International Centre, delivering an impressive performance that earned him a qualification spot at the prestigious British Championships. This four-day event, held at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, is the highest level of competition in UK domestic gymnastics, culminating in a final day featuring Team GB athletes.

Competing at this elite level was an incredible experience for Zach, and he rose to the occasion, achieving personal best scores in five out of six disciplines. His next major challenge will be the London Open this summer, which could lead to further opportunities at the English and British Championships next year in the Under-16 category.

A Testament to Hard Work and Balance
Zach’s dedication to gymnastics is truly remarkable. As a member of the boys' squad at Uttoxeter Gymnastics Club, he trains over 20 hours per week. His commitment extends beyond regular training, as he also attends the Team GB training facility at Lilleshall on Monday evenings, often returning home after 10 pm. On Saturdays, he seamlessly transitions from school matches straight into evening training sessions until 8:30 pm.

Despite his demanding schedule, Zach continues to manage his academic responsibilities with impressive self-discipline. His ability to balance both his sporting and educational commitments is commendable, and we are incredibly proud of his achievements. We wish him the very best for his upcoming competitions and look forward to seeing his continued success!
