The Prep - Twosday Fundraisers

The Prep at Denstone College Charity

Prior to the half term break, pupils were encouraged to raise money for the Twosday initiative, named after the date of the 2nd February 2022. The 2 charities are childhood bereavement services called Treetops Hospice and East Cheshire Hospice.

The fundraising efforts have been varied in type, and showcase the individuality of our pupils, including sponsored walks, making school scrunchies, and gymnastics moves. They were all for a fantastic cause, details are below.

Olivia made and sold all 40 hair scrunchies last week and has even made some extra ones over the weekend for people. She’s raised £150 in total.

In true Zach style, he decided to do something with a gymnastics twist by completing 22,222 skips, 2,222 press ups, 222 v sits, 22 consecutive rotations on the pommel and a double back on the rings. Fantastic!

Over the half term holidays, Zoe decided to complete a sponsored walk for 9 miles around Carsington Water with her 2 dogs.

Felicity wore 22 items of clothing when she comes in to school, it must have got fairly warm under all those layers!

The Wilson sisters have also taken part in raising money. Philippa will be having 22 inches of her extremely long hair cut off and will be donating the hair to the Little Princess Trust.

Her sister Elizabeth has also held a cake sale and has made pencil cases to sell.

Jessica has also made and given out bags of kindness to members of her class. These were special bags which contained notelets for them to write a kind message and give it to another pupil.

Jake picked up his new puppy’s ‘Number Twos’ and got paid £1 for every run he scored in cricket.

What outstanding efforts from everyone at the Prep. Well done!
