How very quickly this half term has gone! Pre-Prep took part in a wonderful assembly on the Harvest Festival, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.  I would like to thank parents, students and staff for their donations over the Harvest Festival.

We hope you found our Parents' Evening in the Drill Hall successful and an enjoyable experience using pre-booked slots.

Sports News

Prep 5 and 6 had a very busy week of sport with hockey fixtures against Newcastle-under-Lyme. The Prep 5 girls also had a successful tournament at The Elms in which they played extremely well against some excellent teams. The teamwork and camaraderie shown was fantastic. Prep 6 won their rugby fixture against Derby Grammar and it was to great to see the boys thrive in their first full contact fixture. Prep 5 and 6 have fixtures against Abbotsholme for hockey and Oldfields for rugby on Tuesday 1st November. Prep 6 will be taking a team of girls for hockey and boys for rugby to Newcastle-under-Lyme on Friday 4th November. Fixture season is well and truly upon us and it is amazing to see our pupils represent the school so well.

This half term has been very busy for the children. We hope that you have an enjoyable and relaxing rest.  We look forward to welcoming pupils back on Mon 31st Oct. We also look forward to Phase II developments at the Prep being completed and handed over on our return.

Today’s own clothes day raised a fantastic £229 for the Air Ambulance, which is Beeches chosen house Charity.

A reminder that this afternoon is Cupcake Friday. The PTFA will be holding a cupcake sale outside The Prep from 3.45pm. All funds raised will go towards the PTFA, who fund some of the nice ‘extras’ at school such as the Christmas disco so your support is really appreciated.

Best wishes for half term,

Head of Prep
